Field Recording -- Drift

My drift strategy was the same as in my original post, except for shifting my square to the northwest by 3 blocks on all sides, to incorporate new areas that i had discovered during my original drift.

PART 2

The recording I found to be most interesting was my recording #1.  In this little oasis down underneath a footbridge, i heard more natural sounds than i had anywhere else during my drift.  It was serene and thought provoking, which inspired me to write a short story based upon my experience.

My legs vibrate together faster than you can even imagine.  No one can see me.  It's hard living out here, the constant struggle of staying where the outside world can only hear me.  I want to be heard, no I need to be heard.  Do you have any idea what it's like to be so small in a world that was made for bigger things?  What was that, a duck?  Those things scare me, how can they be comfortable in water and on land?  Yesterday, i saw a squirrel.  A big one, he was carrying some nuts but he stopped to tell me something.  He asked me, "don't you ever shut up?".  I told him i couldn't help it, and that if he had such a problem with it that he could keep on walking.  He knows these bushes are for my kind.  Ah, theres that truck again.  Always with the beeping and the clanging.  I hope whatever they're building is worth all that noise.  I have friends, out in the country, they're always telling me that the city is no place for a cricket.  But they're wrong, there's no place i would rather be.

Drift Strategy

9. Draw a square on the map. Navigate the area within this square by walking consecutively smaller
squares within the original square.

My square begins at E Hamilton st. and N Marshall St. then continues south to N. Marshall st. and E. Knapp St.  Next, i will turn left onto E. Knapp continuing until i reach N. Franklin pl.  There, i will again turn left until i get to the final intersection of N. Franklin and E. Hamilton St.
